Through partnerships with Florida universities, FSLA works to connect students with industry professionals, provide opportunities to learn about the surplus lines marketplace, and introduce students to the wide range of career paths available in the industry.
Florida State University
Florida Surplus Lines Speaker Series
FSLA is proud to partner with the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office and the Risk Management and Insurance program at Florida State University to support the Florida Surplus Lines Speaker Series.
The twice-yearly series, held during the fall and spring semesters, gives students the opportunity to hear directly from surplus lines industry leaders, gain insight into the profession, and learn more about the many career opportunities available within the industry.
The Speaker Series provides a valuable connection between the classroom and the insurance industry, helping students better understand the role of surplus lines in Florida’s insurance marketplace and the opportunities available to them after graduation.

FSLA Endowed Scholarship
FSLA established an endowed scholarship at the University of South Florida to support students pursuing education in insurance and risk management.
As one of FSLA’s longstanding commitments to education and the development of future insurance professionals, the scholarship reflects the Association’s dedication to supporting students as they prepare for careers in the insurance industry.
